China's Three Gorges to pay 3.66 billion US dollars for the operation rights for two Brazilian hydropower plants. The two hydropower plants have a combined installed capacity of almost 5,000 megawatts.
Three Gorges would be entitled to receive annual revenue of 2.38 billion reais or about 600 million US dollars during the 30-year contract, a sum that is subject to periodic reviews. This comes just a day after Hainan Air, one of the largest airlines in China bought Brazil's Azul Brazilian Airlines for 23.7 percent of its stake. The two merger cases valued at 26 billion yuan or 4 billion US dollars in total.
This year Brazilian government relaxed controls for foreign countries to bid for its projects, paving way for foreign investments to enter the country.
