President Xi Jinping has held talks with his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma in Pretoria.

They discussed ways to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two emerging economies. Both heads of state agreed to lift bilateral ties "to a new height" by fully implementing the 5-10 Years Strategic Plan on Cooperation, as well co-chairing the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
The two also witnessed the signing of a series of cooperation agreements in multiple areas including economy, culture, and technology.
"In our discussions today, President Xi and I both expressed our satisfaction about the progress we have made in the implementation of identify projects," Zuma said.
"We shared the view that the two sides should continue to view and promote China-South Africa relations from strategic long term perspectives, we need to maintain close high-level exchanges, strengthen the sharing of governance experience and on issues of our major concerns, and extend mutual understanding and support," Xi said.
