Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with visiting US Secretary of State, John Kerry, here in Beijing. They discussed a range of bilateral and regional issues, including the nuclear program of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, after its nuclear test earlier this month.

Kerry also voiced appreciation for cooperation with China on some major global issues such as anti-extremism, climate change and Iran's nuclear programme. Many see Kerry's two-day visit as able to improve strategic mutual trust between Beijing and Washington.
The Chinese foreign ministry also earlier expressed China's hope that the visit can deepen communications over some key issues between the two sides.
